This was a live project set by pen giants Zebra Pens. The brief was to design a new product line for their sub-brand ‘Arbez’. The line had to consist of a Marker pen and a Ball-point pen. There were four key elements that I had to consider when going through my design process.

1) Innovative ways of using the pen
2) Reflecting my culture
3) An everyday item suitable for the global market
4)Low cost for mass production

Designed from scratch, entirely in Photoshop, and arguably one of my most difficult pieces of work. It was important that I got the texture and ‘feel’ of the mobile phone correct, in order to give a realistic photo impression.

Designed in Photoshop, this piece of work was aimed at me using layer masks and gradient overlays. Inspired by my personal experience of a ‘power cut’ very recently, having to use a small candle to navigate around the house.

Experimentation with the google logo. I eliminated the drop shadow from the letters to give it a more playful and ‘younger’ feel.

BeBuzz is an application designed for the Blackberry mobile phone by the Company Bellshare. It is an app that I have used for many years now and as a side project, I designed a logo for the application.

A live project with Marks & Spencer. The brief was to design a new type of ‘coffin package’ for their core bacon. I had to adhere to their ‘Plan A’ strategy and make the packaging as sustainable as possible.

Shampoo Bottle

Mini-Project: To Design a shampoo bottle with the focus on form and aesthetics.Subconsciously, we all find symmetrical faces attractive. Using this research-proven statement, I thought I would apply this fact to my design. My shampoo bottle, designed for the male demograph, promotes confidence and assurance in its values, and intrigue in its form. The shampoo can be accessed from all four corners and the bottle always looks the same no matter how you hold it.

Luxury Chocolate

Mini-Project: To Design a luxury chocolate with the focus on form and aesthetics.
“The inspiration for my chocolate design was derived from the ‘teardrop.’ I wanted my chocolate to convey authenticity, emotion, sincerity and attachment. All of the above characteristics you can associate with a teardrop, not just the form itself, but from the bearer.”
